Date:

German Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz has signaled a potential shift in foreign policy, specifically regarding Iran, as he prepares for a possible transition in U.S. leadership. Merz has advocated for a more assertive stance against Tehran, suggesting that Germany and Europe should take greater responsibility for their own security interests. The strategy reflects broader efforts to reshape Germany’s geopolitical role in a changing global landscape.

  • Friedrich Merz, leader of the CDU, is positioning his foreign policy platform ahead of the upcoming German elections.

  1. A present tactical draw, but strategically, time is mostly on America's side.
Also, the war is not over, and the IRGC is facing a possible uprising and overthrow.

    The Iranian rial is dropping.
IRGC leadership is weak and fragmented.
The general Iranian public hates their government.
Nuclear development and chemical infrastructure – damaged/destroyed.
Anti-air and heavy ordinance – destroyed.
Naval assets, aside from commandeered civilian motor-boats – destroyed/sunk.
Iranian petroleum exports and refined petroleum fuel imports is blockaded: No petroleum revenue, and fuel shortages for Iran.
Iranian oil-well and related process facilities must be shut down.
The Americans can maintain the blockade indefinitely.
USA is presently a petroleum exporting nation and controls Venezuelan petroleum exports. The market for crude will adjust away from the Gulf region to the Americas.

  2. That was my first thought when Merz did those rather pale comments about Trump, who is already damaged by Iran and Epstein. So not a good timing. He won't eat those comments lightly.

  3. In yet another Truth Social post published after the recording of this episode, US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump said Merz should focus on ending the Russia-Ukraine war, claiming the chancellor had been "totally ineffective" in doing so until now and should concentrate on "fixing his broken country," especially on domestic issues like immigration and energy, rather than criticizing US actions on Iran.

  4. "Broken Country…"
Which has more children in poverty?
    Lower education outcomes?
    More uninsured for healthcare?
    Greater life expectancy?
    They are rhetorical questions.
    We already know which one.

  5. LET THIS BE A LESSON KIDS. ALL COUNTRIES HAVE TO WALK TIGHT ROPES WHEN DEALING WITH OTHER NATIONS LEADERS. IT'S NOT EASY OR PLEASANT AND PUBLIC OPINION CAN BE DANGEROUS. KIDS WANT TO LOOK AT DIPLOMATS FOR ANY FLAW, BUT THEY ARE DOING THEIR BEST.

  6. What baffles me is how EU leaders try to insert themselves into Iran war, out of no where makes Iran the enemy. I think at this point Iran should consider being a real actual evil since it has already been painted as such.

  7. The only one who can count on trump's loyalty is literally putin. So the invitation for US to vacate the bases is becoming more of a necessity. With a hard threat from the East, we have to clearly prepare for any risks from the West.🇬🇧

  8. Advice: If you have nothing Nice to Say, Don’t say anything at all ..Especially Anything to do/about with Snow Flake Trump ..Very Weak and Ornery President gets all upset about a Super Bowl Commercial !!

  9. 2 months in and total annihilation of the Iranian military threat, and the German government is worried about no plan or exit strategy? Last I checked there are no soldiers in Iran and an active cease fire while talks are on going. If the US government achieves no nuclear weapons in Iran then all these leaders will once again have egg on their faces.

  10. If Merz candidly speaking the truth about the Iran war is all it takes for Trump to withdraw US troops from Germany, then it shows just how paper-thin the current US commitment is to Germany's/Europe's defense under the 4547 regime. Trump is not to be trusted so it's well past time to quit bending over for him, tell him to F-off, and create a whole of Europe defense capability that is 100% independent of the US, including moving away from all use & purchases of US weapons systems. As an American w/ German ancestry who adores Germany, it pains me to say this, but it is the best, safest path forward for Germany & Europe. Have no doubt that should some crisis/conflict erupt where the employment of the US military could help Europe, Trump would expect some huge $ pay-off in return–it's in his nature.
