Analyst Warns FIFA Investment Plan Risks Loss of European Teams

Date:

A proposed multi-billion dollar investment plan by FIFA to expand international football competitions faces continued pushback from European football authorities and sports analysts. Analysts caution that any global tournament operating without European participation would fail to represent a genuine World Cup, given the continent’s concentration of elite clubs, players, and commercial revenues. The ongoing friction highlights growing concerns from UEFA and national leagues regarding overcrowded match calendars, player workload, and the potential financial restructuring of international football.

  • FIFA’s investment proposal involves funding to establish expanded international club and national team competitions.
  • European football governing bodies have voiced opposition due to concerns over fixture congestion and player fatigue.
  • Analysts emphasize that European involvement is essential for any global competition to maintain top-tier international prestige and value.
  • Debates continue over governance, scheduling conflicts, and the broader financial impact on domestic leagues worldwide.

  1. Fifa have a effect on club teams where National players are taken. Club football have alot of say in this kind of decision. Unless Fifa want to hire and build their own talent pool in competition with football clubs.

  2. UEFA doesn't just represent 55 members; it accounts for 70% of FIFA's revenue: sponsorships, TV rights, and the wealthiest clubs with their players. Without UEFA, FIFA is worthless. We need to do away with the FIFA presidency; we need a committee of five representatives from the confederations (CONCACAF, CAF, CONMEBOL, AFC, and UEFA) plus one FIFPRO representative (but only for medical matters), and an honorary president who would be the spokesperson but not the decision-maker.

  3. Victor should correct himself by stating that they "want to take money from future leadership so that they can POCKET it today" instead of twisting the truth that they would take the money and "USE it today."

  4. "Without Europe and without the United States, the World Cup is not a valuable product at all". Without Europe, the World Cup is nothing. Without the United States, the World Cup is…exactly the same.

  5. This woman was doing everything possible to get a specific narrative out of

Like how do you basically keep asking the same question but with different wording.

The guy kept repeating it’s for current leaders to enrich themselves.

“It’s a good investment for underdeveloped countries”

Like why is she saying this after the guy basically told her it’s corrupt

  6. FIFA calling itself a non-profit organization is a myth. FIFA made about 13 billion dollars This World Cup. It's forward funding program will account for about 2.25 billion dollars to be paid out to the workd soccer organizations this cycle, less than 20% of the 13 billion that FIFA made. The remaining $10 billion will go to genuine operational expenses like running FIFA, prize money and topping up the organizations reserve. But after those are paid, no one is entirely clear where the rest of the money goes. Now that shouldn't sound very non-profit to anyone.

  7. even 95pr of Argentina Team work in Europe clubs under UEFA rules.. so is not just all Europeen teams .. All another top nations have go in with B team as main palyer cant leve million dollar contrat to play in WC without UEFA. so no more Brazil and argentina or any top nations to that will play without UEFA:)

  9. lmao another part of anything valuable in north american being exploited by italians, germans, americans trying to use countries like India and China and middle eastern money via Kushner to funnel money to themselves 😤

  10. Gianni thought he was the big dog of football but he's about to find he's nothing but the wagging tail and FIFA risk the tail being cut off. UEFA do not actually need FIFA, but the rest of football does need UEFA and specifically, their club players…
