  1. Sadly this will happen more due to climate changes and insurers will stop covering these disasters like they are in the USA. Our laws will need to stop pandering to the corporations and come up with better solutions than placing the burdens on an already stressed and burdened population.

  2. Anyone who still denies climate change isn’t paying attention to the catastrophes already unfolding around the world. Addressing it isn’t solely the responsibility of governments, we all have a role to play, through the choices we make every single day.

Just a week ago, we came frighteningly close to losing everything we owned to wildfires, after extreme heat and months of little snow or rain left the landscape dangerously dry. Experiences like that make climate change very difficult to dismiss as some distant or abstract problem.

This planet belongs to all of us, and it’s the only home we have. Protecting it requires all governments, industries, communities and individuals to do our part. Every effort matters.

  3. It just crossed my mind. This might sound ridiculous, but if you have any kind of helmet at home, wear it during a tornado. A bicycle helmet, a handyman helmet, and the best one would be a full-face motorbike helmet. A good helmet can protect your head/face/both head and face (depends on the type of the helmet) from getting hurt by little flying objects during a tornado. Also goggles (snorkeling goggles, swimming goggles, motorbike goggles) could be useful to protect your eyes if you don't have any helmet. Anything that can minimize injuries on your head and face, I think it wouldn't hurt to wear it during such a tornado.
