A classified United States military plan outlines preparations to withdraw key defense assets from Europe in the event of a major conflict in the Indo-Pacific region. This strategic pivot would require European NATO allies to assume primary responsibility for defending the continent, particularly along the eastern flank. The potential reassignment of critical American assets, including advanced air defense systems and reconnaissance capabilities, highlights the growing pressure on European nations to rapidly bolster their own military readiness and reduce their long-standing reliance on U.S. security guarantees.
- U.S. defense planning indicates that key military assets currently stationed in Europe would be redirected to Asia if a conflict erupts in the Indo-Pacific.
- The assets slated for potential relocation include vital air defense systems, aerial refueling tankers, and high-tech reconnaissance platforms.
- European NATO members would be expected to independently secure the alliance’s eastern borders against potential adversaries without direct U.S. support in these key areas.
- The strategy underscores a broader shift in American foreign policy prioritizing deterrence in Asia, specifically regarding potential conflict involving China.

Come on Europe. Look at Ukraine’s example . You got this💪🏿👍🏿‼️😌👍🏿 1:19
I think that we should stop trying to economically plunder the global south countries of their resources in a parasitic way. Including, opening up to the reality that Western countries are the cartoonish evil force that projects their own bad doings onto other countries that don't allow corporations to plunder their countries resources. Also, just try to get along with Russia and China along with not being so reliant on them when it comes to energy as well as focusing on economic policies that actually spark economic growth.
What do you think the reported US cuts could mean for the future of NATO and European security?
The magas think they can run away from the world and hide under their bed. And they all think they are victims when they don’t even realize they are all subsidized by everyone else.
Europeans will need their own armies. This will lead to world war 3. 100%
We need to cut in Europe, starting with American arms, dump the fighters dump the US bonds don't sell the chips, and let's make our own arms and unified and interchangeable across Europe
TERI THE BEST OF THE BEST
You cannot count on Trump 😮
The cause and foundation of the problems is Italy and France Paris,,, and,,,, America,,,, in jesus mighty name Amen,,, salam Aleikum,,, wa Aleikum salam
On the naval forces isn't a big issue. In the last 2 decades or so the Europe has produced significantly more tonnage than the US. The issue is about ammunitions for the naval forces. They need to be replaced by European ammunitions.
The world knows that German men are not to trifled with(except for German men)
Putin asked for even more reductions, but Xi told Putin it was too much, since it might get the EU to develop their drones too much or turn to Ukraine & NATO might connect China to it all.
Europe should stop crying, its not up to the USA to keep you safe.
Europe needs to grow up and stand on it's own two feet, enough relying on Trump.
NATO is the United States only someone as ignorant as trump would destroy such a organization truly idiotic
The evil empire is falling!
Sweden head alliance with France Great Britain Germany Spain have got the best model with the manufacturing in Canada not a problem.
Germany can easily replace these cuts. EU should build its own military capable of defending itself against the Chinese and the Russians. When the EU denies the USA access to its bases, the USA does not see any value in NATO.
Place don’t speak for Europe, just because some countries think Russia is a superpower or because you don’t want conscription or to defend your country doesn’t mean everyone in Europe think we need American bases in Europe, there are lots of countries which never have had US troops stationed an never cancelled conscription, Germany has 2 times the GDP of Russia, make less civilian vehicles make some weapons and start up conscription, Germany is surrounded by allies and friendly nations 😱😱😱😱😱
Canada has spent the last few years outlawing long guns. The people who make a living guiding people hunting for their best experience in Canada flying into locations where most people don’t go. The Professionals make sure everything is legal and safe. My father in law was one. He was able to fly into New York. Pick up his son in law get an another flight heading north. He will sleep in a tent with with plywood boards around to stop the Bears from getting in to the tent and eat them.
Canada outlawed the guns used to protect the world hunters. They are cutting off their nose. They stop the guns making taxes for the government.

As a reminder, the United States is the only member of NATO to have ever invoked Article Five…
Well US has showed how it's military is useless in Iran, so even if they pulled everything back nothing would change haha >_<
Now do you understand why you were not told about Iran?
The fact that the USA has to pay for most of nato for most of its existence is something the Europeans will NEVER understand. They just want a free ride while sabotaging the USA at every turn
Europe is gonna fold and will be sending Rutte to pacify Daddy. Please don't leave us President Trump! We are weakamd cannot defend ourselves.
Europe : We want peace, security, wealth, democracy and freedom, but without spending our money and military personal on the line, bleeding a drop for it. How delusion can a continent can be, go figure out 😅
That's not surprise.
EUrope must defend itself.
America is a ally on the paper. Intervention in Iraq Afghanistan destroyed the countries and caused mass migration.. But America itself under Trump won't pay debt of favour.
I still remember about Greenland. Mf96
Fun Fact: Germany is 0-2 in 🌍 wars.
😂
I bet the French leaked it
Why are we leaving so much stuff in Europe? We're going to need it to deal with Canada.
… what's "NYTO???
Fear in heats running at 100mph . Take a break EU. Best way is to fart and move on visible path
Why not make your own army to defend your own country? What a bunch of lazy wees
Perhaps I can provide a translation for what the Trump Administration is doing.
Iran has missiles with the range to reach Berlin and Paris. They are on the path to place a nuclear warhead on those missiles. They have no missiles capable of reaching the U.S. Yet the U.S. led an attack against Iranian military to degrade their stock of missile and nuclear enrichment efforts.
Many in Europe called this operation “illegal”. Including many in Germany and the talking heads in DW. Even worse, they refused over flight permission for American air assets headed to the operation in Iran.
I blame the Trump Administration for not having consulted with European allies prior to starting the operation in Iran.
But I do blame the Europeans for showing an incredible lack of understanding of the nature of power and security in the world that lacks a global government with actual laws along with enforcement power. Lacking any means to enforce laws, international laws become mere suggestions, but nations cannot escape their responsibilities to keep their people safe from external threats.
So calling the operation to mitigate the looming threat to Western Europe “illegal” and refusing to even provide passive support was widely seen within the Trump Administration as the last straw.
I also place a lot of the blame on DW and their incompetence and their inability to recognize reality. Anyone calling the operation in Iran “illegal” should consider how that logic becomes a mutual suicide pact for European nations.
ARE YOU PEOPLE DERANGED? TRUMP IS LITERALLY WORKING FOR PUTIN! HAVE CAN YOU IGNORE WHAT WE'VE ALL SEEN THE PAST 19 MONTHS OR SO, AND THE PREVIOUS 4 YEARS HE WAS IN OFFICE?? HOW CAN A "NEWS" OUTLET LITERALLY IGNORE BLATANT FACTS!!!!!!!
Blah. Blah. Blah. The problem with the European “Leaders” is they are snorting too many white powders 😆
LMFO
Just so I understand. EU doesn’t need the US. So why freak out when we leave!?
You’re telling us to f-off. We hear you. Bye bye
Wish you luck when we leave. As a former NATO guy, you’re 20 years away.
It’s gonna be fun, for me
The contradiction is mind blowing. Europe says they can’t rely on the US while demanding that the US takes the obligation to pay the lion share of Europe’s defense while claiming that European technology is better while claiming that the us should slow the pace of the reduction while claiming that Europe needs to prioritize education and welfare of its people while criticizing the US for not prioritizing spending on its own education…. Most of those things can’t be true at the same time…. What would be better is forgetting these dumb contradictory arguments and looking for a balanced win/win situation that isn’t conditioned to have the US spending so much and being responsible for such a big share of NATO’s components.
The more important point is the benefit that Europe has given the American Taxpayer which is a golden pathway out of NATO after 70+years of American Taxpayers paying welfare to Europe to defend them while they built their untenable Welfare States
From a Chinese TikToker (1 of 2) :

The world has entered a new predator paradigm, and middle powers—Europe in particular—are inevitably heading for the chopping block.
Even now, a lot of people still don't grasp the underlying logic. Take a tiny country like the Netherlands: why do they dare to sail warships over here just to provoke us? Is it really just the lingering arrogance of old imperial powers? And what exactly do these old empires get out of acting so high and mighty? They know perfectly well how deeply intertwined the Sino-European economy is. They know damn well that if they want a good life in the future, they can't decouple from China. Yet they insist on burning bridges and pissing off China. What's the payoff? Just how crucial is it for Europe to hand over a loyalty pledge to the United States?
The answer to all these questions is actually pretty simple; it's just that a lot of people are afraid to admit it, including the Europeans themselves. The situation Europe is facing right now is a dead end—a matter of sheer survival. They know full well they've fallen into the trap of the apex predators. Let's look at how the Europeans are analyzing this themselves. Recently, the renowned French geopolitical strategist François Heisbourg published a new book. In it, he argues that the US has led the world into a new "predator jungle," and Europe is no longer an apex predator. Instead, it has become the prey—watched, fought over, and even slated for remodeling. This is what the French expert calls the "New Predator Theory," and frankly, it's refreshingly candid.
This guy is remarkably clear-headed. He brutally lays bare the truth to the European public: the times have changed. The old aristocrats of Europe are no longer the world's apex predators; they are now the hunted. Predators all around are eyeing Europe like a wolf eyes a sheep, ready to serve it up on a silver platter at any moment. But this strategist also points out that the new-era predatorism of the future differs somewhat from the predators of traditional geopolitics. In the past, geopolitical predators were mostly countries focused on territorial expansion and direct military conquest—behavior somewhat akin to Russia's direct territorial ambitions in Ukraine. But in the future, a new batch of predators led by the US will have a completely different playbook.
Heisbourg gives the example that, although the US previously floated territorial claims over Greenland, the US doesn't essentially want to annex European soil. Instead, it wants to alter the European mindset on a deeper level and reshape Europe's internal political ecosystem. Trump's goal is to make Europe align more closely with American values. This strategist believes this will be a soft consumption of institutional identity and strategic autonomy, with control becoming much more covert. While it might not be as overtly aggressive as in the past, it still cannot be underestimated. However, I have to disagree with this take. Does the US really have no territorial ambitions for Greenland? Of course not. Trump absolutely has territorial ambitions; it's just that in the new world of the future, America's method of territorial expansion will rely primarily on referendums. Keep this in mind: whether the US wants to swallow Greenland, Venezuela, or even parts of Canada, it won't send in the troops to fight a war. All it has to do is drop a few parachutes, let the local populace vote on whether they want to join the US, and if the Americans can pull that off, these old European aristocrats won't have the slightest power to resist.
This French strategist is obviously still trying to save a little face. Deep down, he's afraid that spelling out the brutal reality will be too much for Europeans to swallow, so he only tells half the story. Currently, Heisbourg's views have sparked heated debate in European strategic circles, and many European politicians resonate with them. Honestly, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has been going on for over four years now. If European politicians still haven't woken up to reality by now, they have no business surviving in politics. It’s the classic case of "Xiang Zhuang performing the sword dance, but his mind was on Duke Pei"—the real target that the major global powers are trying to strangle after four years of Russia-Europe conflict is Europe itself. Russia wants its sphere of influence in Eastern Europe. The US wants Europe's wealth and financial capital, along with a slice of its manufacturing base. Meanwhile, another massive power wants to outcompete and crush Europe's domestic manufacturing entirely.
This strategy is so clear; it's been floating on the surface for a long time. These European politicians are just playing dumb, pretending they don't know what's going on. They don't dare tell the public the truth, and the public, trapped in their past arrogance, doesn't want to believe it anyway. To give a simple example, it's like right before the An Lushan Rebellion in the Tang Dynasty—ordinary citizens probably couldn't believe the empire would collapse or that the military governors would rebel. It's not that there were no clear-headed people; it's just that they were so deeply immersed in their comfortable lives they couldn't snap out of it. They simply didn't want to wake up from the beautiful dream. Because reform inevitably brings growing pains and affects how the meat is carved up at the dinner table. Most people just muddle through life wanting nothing but immediate, short-term gains. "After me, the flood"—as long as they get their fill of meat while they're alive, they don't care what happens next. That is the numb mentality of the majority of the public under Europe's current high-welfare system.
But while the public may be numb, top-tier politicians cannot afford to be. They must see the mainstream trend of future development clearly. A lot of things don't stand up to scrutiny. Let me state a cruel reality: in the future, many middle powers, including Europe, will lose the soil they need to survive. It's not just Europe that's going to end up on the menu; in fact, countries like India, Japan, and others will all be served up on a platter. This is the massive, unstoppable trend of the times. So, the question arises: why do I say that these middle powers, including Europe, are inevitably going to end up on the chopping block? Because the post-WWII order has collapsed. Countries like those in Europe, including Japan and India, managed to develop precisely because of the highly unique international relations landscape after World War II.
Let me briefly break down how these middle powers actually developed and what their advantages were. First, after WWII, the world was locked in a Cold War bipolar structure with two superpowers. In this setup, both the US and the Soviet Union were fiercely competing for allies, scrambling to recruit underlings. To get these small and medium-sized countries to side with them, they had to hand out massive benefits. The US opened up its markets, offshored a lot of its manufacturing, and used financial tools to help European nations develop. Japan and India also reaped huge political dividends under this broader backdrop. The Soviet Union played the same game, burning through massive amounts of resources and providing endless material aid to help its allied states develop.
Moreover, within this massive Cold War framework, many countries managed to have their cake and eat it too. Take India, for example. It leveraged its diplomatic flexibility—or, to put it bluntly, its flip-flopping—to play both sides. Today it's flirting with the US, tomorrow it's rubbing shoulders with the Soviet Union, squeezing benefits out of both camps. Over several decades, these countries definitely got a huge slice of the pie.

Ok, so now Trump and the DOD have no excuse to ask for the $1.5 Billion dollar budget they want next year.
