Google and Apple will never do this.
They want you to keep buying the new phones, so they stop updates of the operation system for the old Android & iPhones making them obsolete,
which don't work with the latest OS's. Just wishful thinking of this Labor government.
Now she cares about children?
I wouldn't trust that she really knows what she's talking about. They don't know your age, they just guess based on cookies.
She says she's seen the technology in action. I'm sceptical. Many tech demos are not the full software, just a patched together example of what it'll be like when it actually works. Otherwise the software would already be in circulation and we'd likely already know about it.
10:14 "Mistakes adult for child, which frankly it won't." It will, guaranteed. Little people will probably fall under this. The opposite, probably more likely which is worse.
10:59 "Population of our country is with me." Err, nope. I think you'll find that many people are completely against this.
11:40 "No one likes child abuse." … why didn't they do something about the grooming gangs then?
12:53 "Android or iOS" So… not Microsoft, not digital camera software, just two phone operating systems. As if there weren't enough loopholes. Kids aren't stupid. If they really want to they will find a way, especially if they fear their life depends on it.
14:53 Passing laws can take a long time. Good point. Why would Keir threaten companies into compliance? 🤔 I have a feeling he knows he won't be able to pass such a law, otherwise he'd just do it and skip the threats. Companies are better off calling his bluff. If it's going to be his way or the highway, make it legal. This is the same spiel as a policeman claiming to need entry to your house for a search without a search warrant. Come back when you have one.
I've been holding XRP for a while, but the returns haven't really met my expectations. Since I'm still pretty new to crypto, I'd really appreciate some honest advice on how to get started the right way and actually succeed in this space. Any tips would mean a lot!
They can even stop the boats…
Now they reckon their going to stop the kids…
Who will be given the vote when their sixteen…
Children should be allowed to know EXACTLY how sick their parents are. FACT
Maybe start with a muslim ban having pictures of white girls
Before spending time and money on this maybe look to Australia where they have already implemented this and it has completely failed because children have simply circumvented the restrictions and are still using social media.
The govt should concentrate on economics, the cost of living, housing, wages, unemployment not this draconian bs
BBC is the only one that needs monitoring.
It's the bloody parents job to parent their own kids and watch what they see online and use parental controls. This is purely about political control and censorship under the guise of "Think of the children"
Wow BBC left the comments open!?
Government overreach
Jess Phillips is one of the reasons that (sadly) the Labour party will never form a government again.. 😢
philips blah blah blah…
Ffs this government is all about control control control!
It won't work, as 1000s of young boys will find away around it fast.
Parents need to stop being lazy and actually parent their kids! Set up they're on controls and balances!
Jess Philips, what an embarrassment
MINITOR THE BIAS BBC
Horseface lies as easily as she breathes. Parents have a job, not the government, and this is just yet another governmental overreach to justify digital ID when we constantly reject it.
Media silence on the Belfast beheading story by a migrant.
Parents should be responsible for their children, this is backdoor censorship/surveillance is under the guise of "looking after children" which is appalling, nothing to help the poor kids from the gangs though!
What a bunch of 🐈’s these new kids are my god
The silent majority don't want a surveillance state. It will be dismantled one way or another.
She wants all the tech companies to know our names and dates of birth so she can ban the internet and what content she perceives as “harmful” (Palestine for instance) and she thinks this is justified for the 1% of children groomed on Roblox👍🏻🙄
They should ban them for Adults as well.
We all become what we see.
I think this is the way they will shut down social media.
But it is Ok for Labour to use children homes as child brothels for their preferred voter base?
Irrespective of the rights and wrongs over various governments attempted interventions online, is Jess Phillips still honestly a legitimate voice to be listen to when it comes to children’s safety? Given she has stated in recent times on an interview that she was well aware years ago of police involvement in covering up grooming gangs and did absolutely nothing about it, we can only guess at the levels and amounts of suffering that were allowed to continue because of this lack of intervention, in addition she was proven to a falsely accused victims of grooming gangs of being liars when she, in many peoples opinions, was attempting to sabotage labour’s own enquiry. Perhaps you at the BBC could challenge her and many others in the labour party on these points and plenty of others that are in the public domain particularly around grooming gangs, but then perhaps that’s just too much to expect from our national broadcaster.
The same Jess Phillips who resolutely tried to avoid a grooming gangs inquiry? Her seat is toast at the next election, she's trying to stay relevant in the hope that she'll get elevated to the HoL. Foul horse faced monstrosity.
