Chinese Micro-Drama Industry Begins Replacing Human Actors with AI Technology

Date:

China’s micro-drama industry is increasingly replacing human actors with artificial intelligence to streamline production and reduce costs. These short-form, vertical videos have become a massive market, and studios are now utilizing AI-generated avatars and digital environments to meet the high demand for rapid content delivery. By removing the need for physical sets and human cast members, production houses can bypass traditional filming constraints, allowing for nearly continuous content creation and significantly lower financial overhead in a highly competitive digital entertainment landscape.

  • Chinese production studios are transitioning from human casts to AI-generated actors for short-form micro-dramas.
  • The shift is primarily motivated by the need to decrease production expenses and accelerate the release cycle of new episodes.
  • AI technology enables the creation of digital avatars that can perform without the logistical and scheduling limitations of human performers.
  • Micro-dramas are a dominant entertainment format in China, specifically designed for vertical viewing on mobile social media platforms.
  • The adoption of this technology reflects a broader trend toward automation and generative AI within the global media and entertainment sectors.

  1. Cinema is soooo 2000. 😂 i still spending for my entertainment by subscribing streaming platform, but i dont go cinema anymore, first it is so exp in singapore, i rather use the money to buy food to eat. Second, the quality of holywood movie is nahhh, especially they still doing the woke agenda. Although i really want to watch mk2 for nostalgia, but my youngest is still 6 yo 😅 not sure can bring him to watch.

And stop promoting AI drama or telling AI is the future, a lot of consumers actually against AI. But the company keeps pushing AI, even in my IQIYI home they have the cheek to push AI drama to my face, i send feedback asking them to put AI drama on separate tab or something if people inteseted they will looking for it. Also IQIYI ceo need to be replace.

  2. It is highly prudent to be skeptical of stocks heavily promoted through media narratives, particularly in the volatile 2026 market where AI-driven hype and geopolitical, news-driven narratives are intentionally used to shift stock prices.
In the current volatile environment, retail investors often lose money when trying to chase stocks highlighted by "flash news" or intense media coverage.
Given the current, blurred lines between fact and opinion [story telling], discerning objective truth is essential. Blindly believing what you read is no longer an option.
    Advisable to move Opposite direction.
