Germany Requires Men Under 45 to Obtain Permits for Trips Exceeding Three Months

Date:

Germany is debating a potential shift in military policy as the government seeks to address personnel shortages within the Bundeswehr. The discussion centers on the reactivation of existing legal frameworks that could require men under the age of 45 to obtain official permission for international travel exceeding three months. While compulsory military service remains suspended, the proposed selective service model aims to create a comprehensive registry of military-aged citizens to bolster national defense readiness and increase the number of available reservists.

  • Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has proposed a new selective military service model to address recruitment challenges.
  • The proposal involves a mandatory registration process for all men when they reach the age of 18.
  • Under the Compulsory Military Service Act, individuals liable for service may be required to seek a permit for trips outside the country lasting more than three months.
  • This specific regulatory requirement applies to men up to the age of 45, or age 60 in certain specialized cases.
  • The measures are part of a broader effort to reach a target of 460,000 available troops to meet NATO defense goals.

The Duetche military is concern about possible European war. The concern over oil? UK has 10mbd from Canada, North Sea. Even without USA or Russian oil, EU will be alright.

    Remain calm and carry on.

  2. Well, I live in the US and definitely do not support the war started by our orange clown president and our Fox commentator military chief who has no military service or experience. Now the whole world seems to be pouring resources into military preparedness. Very disturbing

  3. As you can see, jobs are becoming unstable and earning opportunities are shrinking. In reality, no one helps you when things go wrong. That’s why planning and responsibility are important, whether in life or decisions.

  4. I don’t like this but I do believe in mandatory conscription for both men an women for about 6 months. There are many roles that can be filled that are not just front line combat roles. Mechanics, cybersecurity, drone pilots, weapons manufacturers, engineering, medical, construction… it would do our countries in NATO so much good if our populations were well trained and equipped in case things took a turn for the worse.
