A guy in my old fire-department, a Marine, always said European troops he met in OEF always had better and brand new stuff. They did not have a M4 older than them and body armor that did not fit well at all and he said they could have beer on the weekends at least for German troops, but the Marines got 0% alcohol beer made in Iraq and the MREs for the European troops were much better. I also have a friend who was an intelligence officer for the Army and was stationed in Germany for a little bit and he always joked about when training with Germans "our stuff always broke down."
