It's hardly the Defense guys fault he can't just magic up a new defense system to account for the new innovations in both Ukraine and Russia. Chew on him sure, and work with Nato and Ukraine to improve defenses. But just firing the guy seems kind of pointless. Unless Latvia has some kind of active defense research going on they can't just whip up a new defense system it needs to comes from other parts of Nato to begin with. Ukraine is sending some folks which is what they should do. It's their drones even though it's Russian jamming causing them to stray from the warzone. They will help, at this point Ukraine is probably the world leader in drone warfare and counter drone warfare. They have to be to deal with Putin's Orcs and their seemingly endless war of aggression.

I think russians have to know exactly where the drone is currently trying to go to be able to spoof and redirect it in to a certain place. If you don't know that, spofing can only make it go in wrong directions and distance, not to a specific target. Maybe if they can follow it live to see how it reacts to spoofing gps coordinates, they can adjust. I doubt that was the case
