Wildfires Spread Across Greece, Italy, and Turkey

Date:

Severe wildfires are sweeping across parts of Southern Europe, causing widespread disruption in Greece, Italy, and Turkey. High temperatures, prolonged dry weather, and strong winds have fueled the rapid spread of the blazes, forcing authorities to evacuate thousands of residents and tourists. Firefighting crews, supported by emergency response units and water-bombing aircraft, are working to control the blazes as extreme heat conditions persist across the Mediterranean region.

  • Wildfires are actively burning across multiple regions in Greece, Italy, and Turkey.
  • Extreme summer heat, combined with strong winds and dry vegetation, has accelerated the spread of the flames.
  • Mass evacuations have been carried out in high-risk zones to ensure the safety of local residents and visitors.

  1. Its not like we were warned that it would be more expensive handling the consequences of global warning than doing something to prevent it.

Scientists said LISTEN. REACT. We looked up and ignored them because the youtuber UgaBunga25x1934 made a video telling the world the actual truth.

  2. It's an issue California knows all too well. California has partnerships with power or utility providers to shut lines that are in high risk areas. That's just one thing among thousands of other big and small changes California has made. A very big impact that makes fighting wildfires economic in California is the use of convict firefighters (yes I know the EU doesn't have this but maybe a path to citizenship for immigrants, I've heard DW stories from time to time about that issue). Hope those of you that live there listen to evacuation warnings and be mindful to give firefighters defensible space on your properties.

  3. Europe, record heatwave and drought. Yet wildfires release tons of CO2 emissions, making it hotter, and 1,000s of tons of water are used to put the fires out. This surely then, should be called a "tipping point"!

  4. What do the politicians of governments say who refused to act for 40 years straight, mid 80s – present, since we knew this was coming if we don't do anything? Could they speak up now please? I mean now. Available for interviews, on this media channel, or alternatively: in court, Ma'ams and Sir-s?

  5. Europe get what California got . Same way of thinking same result. Too busy fighting Russia 😂😂. There will be nothing to fight for. Bring illegals they will fight for a country not theirs 😂😂

  6. Get used to it, decades of burying heads in the sand, while devastating the atmosphere with poison. The chickens are coming home to roost. I grief more for wild life than human beings.

  7. These nations do not have the infrastructure to fight this.
Once they do stamp out a fire, it comes back up.
Arsonists know that because of the winds, 1 fire will produce 10 more.
