Category one isn't that strong. Only a very small portion will experience the 70 mile an hour winds. The rest will just be a strong thunderstorm with some wind and rain. The media just make a big deal out of everything.
As someone who lives on Oahu (south shore) I'm more worried about the people who live on the North Shore of this island, they had major flooding earlier this year and now have to deal with this as well.
