Awesome news. I've followed the developments in Syria since 2011. Back then I couldn't imagine that the Kurdish militias would integrate into the Syrian army, specially with Al Golani as head of the state. But it brings me joy and hope for the future to know that a diverse Syria is possible under one single banner. May they prosper, and may the Kurds find their language, identity and dignity respected and celebrated not only in Syria, but in all the nations they live in.

It's hard to imagine the US not wanting the Kurds in Syria to retain unit cohesion in the new military. Governments have a tendency of falling apart faster than an SDF-like group can be reformed out of nothing.

Kurdish identity, language, and rights are not fully respected and won't be in Syria anytime soon. 50,000 young Kurdish men and women gave their lives for a free Rojava (West Kurdistan), and now all Kurds get are 'advisory' positions to Jolani's government and optional Kurdish classes for children. Yes, the US abandoned and betrayed the Kurds, but so did the SDF leaders. Kurds will not give up on independence and self-determination. What is happening now is a recipe for disaster. The poor Kurds, they have fought and died for so little despite so much given. I remember 2014 and all those hopes and dreams are now gone. I hope the Syrian government and armed forces will actually except them. Kurdistan should exist as something more than a state of Iraq.
