  1. They said ''Ukrainian'' stray drone.
They means Russian act of provocation.
EU govern is by cowardly feminists who have no competence nor preparations to confront endanger from Deranged Putin. Mf96

  2. So, doesn't this story call into question the various reports of Ukranian drones hitting targets deep inside Russia? Would the Latvian PM have resigned, if her government had not collapsed due to withdrawal of support from a left-leaning coalition member? What would happen if Ukraine sends drones to attack oil/gas pipeline infrastructures in Hungary, Slovakia, and claim that it is Russian drones?

  3. This is messed up politics. One can not just stump one's feet and demand a product be invented and then fire the person for not being fast enough. Product development takes years and expertise. These Latvians ought to quit cutting their own throat with firing people whom they need.

  4. We need a safe corridor inside EU territory, for Ukrainian drones to safely travel in, to hit oil infrastructure in St. Petersburg, without being shot down, or spoofed by Russian counter measures. Just like Russia is doing inside Belarus.

  5. I'm a little confused why this caused the prime minister to resign. It's hardly the Defense guys fault he can't just magic up a new defense system to account for the new innovations in both Ukraine and Russia. Chew on him sure, and work with Nato and Ukraine to improve defenses. But just firing the guy seems kind of pointless. Unless Latvia has some kind of active defense research going on they can't just whip up a new defense system it needs to comes from other parts of Nato to begin with. Ukraine is sending some folks which is what they should do. It's their drones even though it's Russian jamming causing them to stray from the warzone. They will help, at this point Ukraine is probably the world leader in drone warfare and counter drone warfare. They have to be to deal with Putin's Orcs and their seemingly endless war of aggression.

  6. ”exposing vulnerabilities in the NATO member's air defenses" … 😂…🙌…
No, the vulnerability of no longer being able to lie that the attacks against Russia come directly from NATO member countries.

  7. Ukrainians are geniuses!
They fly their drones through several NATO countries undetected, so they must have refueled several times along the way… How did they manage it?
If Russia ever carries out a "demonstration strike" on one of the NATO countries that allows the use of its territory, DW will talk about unjustified Russian aggression.

  8. hääh? why the Fnord is she resigning?
is she running away from a potential fight?! why is she leaving? i dont get it….. DO YOUR JOB! dont run like a chiken, because your job got REAL! 🙄
i guess, its betetr she leaves NOW, instead of failing to be a LEADER, when its really needed!

  9. Those who only saw and heard the war rather than living it is finally feeling it. It is totally different reality. Baltic countries, for that matter others will have to spend much more and layer them. But it seems rather over reacting instead of making it a learning chance. Even Russia and Ukraine themselves have no real defense against drones for themselves.

  10. The problem is not Latvia or any of the Baltic states. The problem is that Europe is strategically paralyzed with respect to border security. Brussels right now is acting like the American Congress.

  11. I think russians have to know exactly where the drone is currently trying to go to be able to spoof and redirect it in to a certain place. If you don't know that, spofing can only make it go in wrong directions and distance, not to a specific target. Maybe if they can follow it live to see how it reacts to spoofing gps coordinates, they can adjust. I doubt that was the case
