  1. Trump keeps claiming that the world respects the USA more than ever before. I hate to tell him, but he has singlehandedly made the USA look like an incredibly immature and grossly incompetent country. Far from gaining more respect, its actions are enraging many around the globe and they are being increasingly loathed rather than loved.

  2. with tRump on the helm, there wont be any allies left for the u s… the whole world only sees tRump and his All Lies… geez american, how can you pick this sh*t to be your head of state…

  3. Carney is playing 3D chess while Trump is eating wallpaper paste.
To counter broad or additive tariffs directly, Canada's federal response should mirror the exact financial scope of the U.S. duties on a product-by-product basis. To maximize domestic political feedback loops within the United States, economic countermeasures are strategically directed at congressional districts and states whose political leaders champion protectionist trade policies.
    Surgical strikes such as:
High-tariff barriers on U.S. corn, soybeans, pork, and beef exporters
Restricting or levying transit and export fees on specialized crude oil, refined products, electricity, and critical minerals (such as aluminum, uranium, and nickel) that feed American manufacturing and power grids.
Levying selective excise or retaliatory duties on high-visibility manufactured goods (such as machinery, vehicles, and construction materials) originating from states led by key Republican lawmakers.

  4. President Trump is a highly capricious being. He can be extremely vengeful . The consumer always suffers for the actions of these "Tariff Wars." A battle of pride turns out to be a very expensive liability for the citizens. "Two worlds collided And they could never ever tear us apart" (Ref: Inxs: Never Tear Us Apart)

  5. Canadiens do not care with the Idiot does. He’s simply raising the cost for American people to buy the Canadian goods they need to collect more taxes from his own people.

  6. Let them deal with their own wildfires. It’s funny how they aren’t putting tariffs on the stuff they need from us, like Potash, electricity and critical minerals. I think it’s time to cut off supply of some of those things

  7. Canada has no leverage over America.
Successive political parties in Canada have made decisions that ensure Canada is locked into a subservient position vs America.
Canada cannot put export tariffs on oil.. because Canada has nowhere else to send that oil. It has no refineries of it's own. It has no major East – West pipelines, the one it does have runs through America.
Canada can play the electricity export tariff card, but that is short sighted and one time.
Canada needs to refine it's own products, and create value added goods from the minerals it mines and the aluminum it smelts and the lumber it harvests, and then it needs to find markets other than America to send those products.
Oil and Gas, refined products.. that is easy, the world is begging for it right now, but Canada can't export it, because it never built the infrastructure to allow it to export at scale anywhere but America.

Every kid in the world is told, "don't put all your eggs in one basket"… and what does successive elected governments, with all their brilliant advisors do?

  8. Canada is in internal war with current US admin. The problem is that US need Canada, and Canada want the easy cash flow from US.
US problem is that Canada can walk away from easy cash while US can not walk away from Canadian supply.
Every single time that US tries to walk away. Their alternative created deals become more expensive. A tug of war that no one will win.

  9. Time to start charging full price for our oil, energy, potash, steel and everything else we gave them discounts on as good trading neighbours. Maybe surcharges on other products. Too.

  10. The US is the second largest polluter of the world. I’m sick of your carbon monoxide drifting over the border into Canada. Keep your pollution out of Canada. Keep it south of the border and quit increasing climate change.

  11. As a Canadian, I try to buy made in [insert country] as long as it doesn't say "USA". I suggest the rest of the world do the same. Sold my F150 and bought an imported from Japan 4Runner.
