From what I'm seeing in the news, Venezuela needs heavy machinery to remove the rubble. Excavators, that sort of thing. Humans can't lift a concrete wall, for example. I was looking at the pictures and I only saw one excavator across all the collapses.
One of the logistical nightmares I feel, as a venezuelan, is where will they dispose of the debris from so much destruction, let alone handling finding the remains of so many that could not be saved. It's a different story when one building may collapse for whatever reason not related to an earthquake, as opposed to when hundreds of buildings collapse this way.
