The History and Global Impact of Covert CIA Operations

Date:

Since its creation in 1947, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has profoundly influenced global geopolitics through covert operations. Originally established to collect and analyze foreign intelligence during the Cold War, the agency quickly expanded into active interventions, including orchestrating coups, supporting proxy forces, and funding cultural programs. These covert activities have shaped the political landscapes of regions such as the Middle East and Latin America, leaving a complex and lasting legacy on modern international relations.

  • The CIA was established under the National Security Act of 1947 to centralize and coordinate United States intelligence operations during the Cold War.
  • The agency expanded its role to include covert actions, famously orchestrating the overthrow of democratically elected governments in Iran (1953) and Guatemala (1954).
  • In addition to political coups, the CIA engaged in cultural warfare, covertly funding intellectual journals, modern art exhibitions, and concerts to counter Soviet influence.
  • Paramilitary operations, such as the failed Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba and the arming of mujahideen fighters in Afghanistan, significantly altered regional power dynamics.
  • The long-term consequences of these historical interventions continue to affect contemporary global diplomacy and regional stability.

  1. Operation Cyclone and Operation Timber Sycarmore, so on, it never ends.

Giving Saddam Hussein chemical weapons precursors and targeting intel to use agianst iranians during his invasion of Iran.

  2. Most CIA agents are sociopaths with sado-masochistic tendencies and a belief in magic people living in the sky. They don't care about the US, just their own power and ability to cause harm to others. You can no longer trust anyone in the US government, but that is especially true for people with legal authority and secret agendas. The US government is sick right now and may never return but everyone should be glad since we'll likely be as successful as Russia.

  3. Don't forget the CIA involvement Iran. The CIA and Britain's MI6 jointly planned the operation to overthrow Mosaddegh and reinstall the authority of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who had been largely a figurehead.
The CIA funded and directed a propaganda campaign in the Iranian press to turn public opinion against Mosaddegh, portraying him as corrupt, unstable, and pro-communist.
CIA operatives, led on the ground by Kermit Roosevelt Jr. (grandson of Theodore Roosevelt), bribed politicians, military officers, and street thugs/mob organizers to stage protests and unrest.
The initial plan for the Shah to dismiss Mosaddegh by decree failed when Mosaddegh got wind of it and the Shah briefly fled the country.
A second wave of CIA-orchestrated action — paid crowds, army units, and pro-Shah military officers — succeeded in overthrowing Mosaddegh's government within days. He was arrested and later put under house arrest for the rest of his life.
The Shah returned to Iran and ruled as an increasingly autocratic monarch until the 1979 revolution, backed by continued US support (including training for his secret police, SAVAK)

  4. It wasn't the CIA. The British Empire is the one that organized the world we now live in. The situation in Iran is left over by French and British actions. A lot – so much of what the British Empire built and governed was lost to the pages of history due to the incredible Operation Legacy – where the British Empire erased it's own history from the world. The incredible amount of material on how the world operated under British rule was lost. Today it seems like 300 years of global administration was a vacuum and so it is very easy to blame America or CIA when they were simply handed a reality that was built by Colonial powers that America was left to stabilize in the context of the Cold War.

America should have never been part of Vietnam war – the South Vietnam was bound by French imperial agreements that the USA was roped in to. The South Vietnam kept on fighting 2 more years after the USA withdrew and so there was a real civil war – it wasn't just US or western and Soviet clash it was honest local civil war in Vietnam but deciding to aid the French Colonial system was a mistake by the USA – not a CIA plot but old French entanglements the USA mistakenly followed.

  5. The BBC won't mention the role of the NED which is practically the Coloured Revolution Wing of the CIA with its fake NGOs!
They provoked violent protests in Ukraine, Iran, Hong Kong & everywhere else the Americans want to cause trouble for the imperial interests!

  6. Reporters only talk about the CIA because they know if they talked about Russias SVR or GRU theres a decent chance it will get their attention. And if they wont even report on it. Well..know who the real world shaper is

  7. The US starts upending its traditional alliances and then the BBC does a deep dive on the history of the CIA but not MI5 which is essentially the same organization but historically subordinate since the Suez Crisis. How odd.

  8. the US does not fight for democracy, freedom and liberty. The US will attack, undermine, destroy anything or anyone, purely for self gain.

The US is not on your side. It is an empire that grows by taking from others.

  9. Check the “Costs of War” reports from the Brown University on all the Wars & Regime Changes conducted by the US,

and the millions of numbers of people killed & refugees created around the World, many of these were done via CIA !

Millions were killed by the Devils in the name of “Democracy” ! And you still don't recognize that the main axis of evil is
the Almighty United States of America ?????
