I feel like everyone my age probably saw that title and said to themselves "Ha my school is quite strict" and then watch the video and said "I would like to retract my previous comments". Like I will admit one of the best things I ever learned in school was "treat other as you'd like to be treated" clearly these schools forgot that. Teenager might not seem like people but they are they have feelings and idea. I mean imagine if in the TV show the office (UK) the same rules applied. Half the cast would have been fired within 5 minutes. Extreme discipline isn't how you treat people. I get some basic rules (hell I agree with no phones in school the cons outweigh the pros 10 fold) a basic (semi relaxed) uniform is show to marginally improve students behaviour and results. I get that. But there is a line and that draws it.
And I 100% understand that students today aren’t like they were back in your day(this implies your 30+ by the way). Again who finished school like 6 weeks ago… I will say this my peers were rowdy when it came to sit down lesson but lots of them are extremely business minded, street wise and great with technology. And most of all health. I know Vapes: I saw way way way less vape use by all at the end of secondary then at the start, the majority I knew always worked out (fit as a fiddle) (ignore me I don't count to this point). Plenty were smart getting 9/8 in pre-covid grade boundaries. For context I live in a mix income place plenty of working class and middle class at my school.
I recommend you all watch this one show "that will teach them" a show sending modern youth to 50's school (clearly the peak of schooling (for the 1% who could benefit, most took gce exams not o-levels )). The twist they from the early 00's. Kids have always been brats you just don't remember it like that cause you were one of those brats and you were being a brat you just called that fun. Even ancient Greek’s said "kids are getting dumber" in like 0AD 2000 years ago (approx)
Finally the reason we don't do what we did in the 50's is cause we became smarter. Again the 50's the decade where lead paint is what a growing boy need. Cigarette are the perfect cure for a bad throat. Safety gear is only optional. And polo makes COVID look like the sniffles. What a perfect decade. Like the system is bad something gone wrong but harsh discipline is not way. Also I feel really sad for that girl sounds like a nightmare of a place to learn.

It’s interesting how much contrast there can be just within 1 country – I went to a Secondary Girls’ school in London that accepted boys for 6th Form, had no dress codes at all, welcomed using tablets, laptops and headphones in classrooms, can come & leave school whenever you had no lessons, could easily bunk lessons without any detentions – and all of this in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ -rated school 😂
Companies need workers but workers need schools to look after their kids and kids have needs which aren't being met which is where government needs to step in and ensure them otherwise the money & support they receive from companies could be reduced by parents having to take time off work to help their child and children growing up with mental health issues keeping them out of work so government need to fix this problem asap.
