Russian forces have launched a series of strikes on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, occurring just one day after a visit by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The aerial bombardment prompted air raid warnings across the region, sending residents to shelters as air defense systems engaged incoming threats. The strikes underscore the ongoing intensity of the conflict and the continued vulnerability of urban centers, even as high-level diplomatic delegations attempt to engage in discussions regarding the path toward a potential resolution.

And you mam what makes you confident he can't?
3 day free trial is over. Back to taking deliveries.
Ukraine tell Zelenskyy should go for peace
The clown of Ukraine needs more money 😂😂
As long as money coming in the corrupt government of Ukraine happy and Europeans happy to pay for the services he supplies even if the Ukrainians are the scapegoats
if NATO gives Ukraine more bombs then the war will go for a long time and allow the kids to get old enough to join the war and teash Putin a good lesson
Russia has already won madam
Trump:
I will finish this war in 24 hours…
Zelenskyy taking in the Russian long range sanctions like a champ !
No more parties in Kiev. War must be brought to the spoiled ones.
There is a difference between ceasefire and peace. Looser are looking for ceasefire and Ukraine is winning why would they need one.😊
Putin should have broke Ukraine when they attacked Russia and invaded Russia should have been the redline for Ukraine to disappear. No electricity no water no mercy would have save a lot of lives Ukrainians would had to migrate west and lived. And war would have been over. Putin made a fatal mistake of prolonging the war and letting tiny nations act a couple nukes and a couple of small countries have to disappear so peace can be achieved then the west would have gotten the dumb idea of defeating Russia. War is meant to achieve peace not to make it more dangerous. There should event be reporters there the roads connecting Ukraine should have craters size of a stadium the government of Ukraine should have been wiped out should had only left some of the generals make the decisions so they can come to terms . It’s easier without politics in the table the military leadership is more logical.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's hard to say if a vacuum or Witkoff & Kushner have more impact on the world.
Sponsors of war are still in different cities sending weapons
Indiscriminate attacks on civilians can never be tolerated. I offer my condolences to the Ukrainians who have lost their lives.
What another non headline 😂 why wouldn’t Russia continue strikes lmafo
Team TACO never stop a war
They self engaged in forever war
The Price Ukraine is paying for NATO membership is overwhelmed by the Human Suffering. Ukraine must take from Iceland that rejected joining EU.
Just like President Zelensky, the Ukrainian reporters, and THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD KNEW. Trump is a Putler puppet, and Jarred and Steve are Trumnp's puppets. Putler is playing them like dominos. Promising peace, only hours later to keep firing balistic missiles again. Who t.f. in their right mind thinks you can "make any lasting peace with this m.f.?"
zelensky has too much pride to shake hands with pezeshkian
Why they want peace.. they wanted to tested their highly advanced and cutting edge technology on live target .. they should rename their DEFENCE INDUSTRY to WAR INDUSTRY.. just like Trump rename it DOD to DOW
These images no longer invoke sympathy.
Why'd does DW allow these. Russian trolls to populate. its comment site. It is profoundly unprofessional. Their comments are criminal just as are the actions of the war criminal that leads them. These are all murderers and liers.
They're saying russian mutation is inaccurate and just flies.
jokers and allies want the war to be continued
England France Germany Italy big problem to peace talks Russia Ukraine war
😂😂😂
Cry baby cry
😂😂😂😂
Airstrikes offer no guarantee of safety and invariably cause collateral damage. Ultimately, Ukraine and Russia must determine the path to ending the conflict, rather than allowing external actors like the EU and US to benefit from weapon sales.
DW is a waste of time to watch.
Completely out of touch and in love with their own opinions and voices.
I don't see why you would invite someone who only agrees with your point of view in every way.
Just to tickle your ears?
Europeans hands fill with ukraine blood they promotee them saying they can win against russia so many poor lives lost because of them
Pay special attention to the slanted message hidden in their language when they state "Putin thinks that Russia is winning this war" and not the objective reality that Ukraine is being pummeled by the Russian attacks.
Always begging 😅😅😅
Only two people killed, so it seems that Russia is striking only military Targets, or scam call centers in Ukraine which is responsible for hacking, looting money from people. Not like ISRAELI bombardment in which every attack there is 40 plus Palestinian children kill every time.
Oops putin (president of a 2nd powerful country) doesn't get information from the front line but she gets it 🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️
DW news help Ukraine better than Germany government 😂
Looks like talks didn't go down well 😢😢

The analysis explores the potential global fallout of a US-Russia rapprochement, which is expected to focus on cooperation in energy, international shipping routes, and grain. The author argues that this realignment will severely disrupt the current global order, with the damage cascading in this order of severity: the Zelenskyy government, the European Union, Iran, and finally, China. China’s overarching strategy is to leverage these divisions—particularly by encouraging European resistance—to delay US-Russia consolidation and buy time for its own development.
1. Ukraine and the Zelenskyy Government (Most Severely Impacted)
Existential Threat: A US-Russia deal would make the current Ukrainian leadership the first casualty. Zelenskyy and his circle face potential imprisonment or exile.
Zelenskyy’s Two Options:
1. Cooperate with the EU to withstand US pressure, securing asylum in Europe.
2. Cooperate with Trump, step down voluntarily, and retire in the US.
Value as a Pawn: Russia may not immediately remove Zelenskyy because, as the legal leader, his cooperation is necessary for a smooth transition. Furthermore, the US and Europe can use him as a bargaining chip to pressure Ukraine’s future government and negotiate with Russia, similar to how the West used Syria’s Bashar al-Assad.
2. The European Union (Severe Economic and Geopolitical Damage)
Economic Decline: Four years of the Russia-Ukraine war have devastated Europe’s real economy. Industrial gas costs are six times higher than in the US, leading over 3,000 manufacturing firms to relocate core capacities (60% to China and the US) between 2023–2024. Volkswagen’s massive restructuring is cited as a microcosm of this decline.
Technological Lag: Europe is falling behind the US and China in critical sectors (EVs, AI, semiconductors, clean energy) and losing market share in traditional strongholds (automobiles, chemicals, aerospace).
Geopolitical Maneuvering: Lacking other leverage, the EU is using its residual influence in the Middle East (specifically Lebanon and Egypt) to bargain with the US.
Examples: France condemning Israeli attacks on Lebanon; Egypt purchasing French Rafale jets (which China did not oppose, preferring to let Europe and the US friction drag on).
Tactical Cooperation with China: As the US withdrew from the Paris International Space Summit to appease Russia, France invited China, signaling emerging Sino-European tactical cooperation.
Arctic Preemption: EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s recent visit to Greenland (and a €200 million investment pledge) is a preemptive move to secure a foothold in the Arctic, anticipating that a US-Russia deal will target global shipping chokepoints (referred to as the "Canada-Greenland-Panama" regions).
Caveat: Europe’s resistance is purely self-interested (to secure a share of Ukraine's spoils), not a genuine alliance with China.
3. Iran (Internal Division and External Pressure)
Factional Struggle: Iran is divided between a "hardline faction" and a "capitulation faction." The US and Russia are allegedly pressuring Iran to empower the capitulation faction. This serves Russia’s goal of securing a Ukraine ceasefire or a pro-Russian Kyiv regime, with minimal loss to Russian interests in Iran.
Economic Warfare: The capitulation faction is using Iran’s worsening economic conditions as leverage to seize political control, evidenced by the recent creation of an "Economic Warfare Command Center" by President Pezeshkian’s administration.
Nuclear Threats: Israel and the US have escalated rhetoric, with Israeli officials explicitly threatening to strike Iran’s energy infrastructure and send the country back to the "Stone Age"—a phrase historically used by the US as a prelude to regime-change operations (e.g., post-9/11 Pakistan).
Russia’s Transactional Support: Russia’s recent provision of hypersonic missile technology to Iran is not pure solidarity. It is a tactical move to strengthen the hardliners just enough to give Russia more bargaining chips in its negotiations with the US.
4. The Nuance of China-Iran vs. Russia-Iran Relations
There are two critical diplomatic clues to understand the true nature of these relationships:
1.The Special Envoy: Iran previously appointed a special envoy specifically for China (but not Russia) because it lacked established channels with Beijing, highlighting China's rising importance during the hardline faction's peak.
2. The SCO Summit Snub: At the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, Russian President Putin met directly with Iranian President Pezeshkian, but China and Iran held no separate bilateral meeting.
Conclusion: This shift indicates that as Iran’s capitulation faction gains ground, Tehran is pivoting back toward Russia. China remains cautious, supporting only the hardline faction’s resistance, not the Iranian government as a monolith. China’s core principles remain: "The Middle East belongs to the people of the Middle East," and "We will not trade away other countries' core interests."
5. China’s Grand Strategy
Delay and Deflect: China’s primary objective is to push Europe to the front lines of geopolitical friction. By subtly supporting Europe’s attempts to maintain relevance (e.g., in Egypt or the Arctic), China aims to slow down the speed of US-Russia reconciliation ("crossing the river").
Buying Time: Whether Europe can ultimately stop the US-Russia realignment is secondary to China. The primary goal is to prolong the friction, creating a longer window of strategic opportunity for China’s own development and consolidation of power.

My own comments :
The coming US-Russia rapprochement (if really any) serves the interests of Trump's US, since
(a) in the long run, the US can pit Russia against quickly-rejuvenating China in the future years, just like what President Nixon had once did to China when the US was competing fiercely with then USSR in the last century,
(b) in the short run, especially before the completion of the US's mid-term election this year, Russia can help the US to stop the ongoing military conflicts with Iran in the Middle East once and for all and in a face-saving manner (provided the US also helps Russia to eventually end the seemingly-never-ending Ukrainian war in Europe).
Which perhaps means, contrary to current widespread global opinions, both the ongoing wars in Europe and in the Middle East may genuinely come to an end as unexpectedly as they suddenly started, with non-trivial repercussions across the world's stock and other financial markets.
Ukraine, EU Europe and Iran should all beware.
