Iran Threatens Retaliation Against Gulf Neighbors as Deadline for US Blockade of Strait of Hormuz Passes

Date:

Iran has issued a stern warning to its neighboring Gulf states following the expiration of a deadline related to a potential U.S.-led blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran indicated that any regional cooperation with U.S. military efforts to restrict Iranian maritime access would be met with direct retaliation. This escalation follows ongoing friction regarding international shipping routes and the presence of foreign naval forces in the region, highlighting the fragile security situation in one of the world’s most critical energy corridors.

  • Iran officially threatened to retaliate against Gulf neighbors that facilitate U.S. maritime restrictions or blockades.
  • The warning follows the passing of a deadline concerning U.S. naval operations aimed at controlling Iranian movement in the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Tehran maintains that regional security must be managed exclusively by local nations without the presence of external military powers.

  1. Well, Europe you actually need to thank President Trump! Europe is going to meet its Net Zero goals ahead of schedule!! Thanks America! Now, on the other hand, France Has its own oil! It’s in The Americas! French Guyana, according to geologists, has huge oil reserves! You just refuse to harvest it! Net Zero Ideology! You are shooting yourselves in the foot! 🇺🇸

  2. The United States is simply unable to use force or threats to enforce a blockade against Chinese and Russian ships. These two countries have drawn a clear line in the sand; for, even their levels of patience and tolerance have limits.

CASE-IN-FACT: Look how the United States humbly capitulated to Russian tanker delivering crude oil to Cuba.

It is rather curious that Trump is basically mimicking Iran’s strategy. As it was attacked by Israel and the United States, Iran retaliated by attacking those neighbors that aided and abetted the United States. The strategy was to force those countries to cease facilitating the United States’ aggression.

Likewise, as Iran proceeded to not block non-aggressors, the United States responded by attempting to create a full embargo. This was done to deny Iran any semblance of power and control over the Strait. Additionally, Iran was earning revenues from its toll both; and, it has declined Trump’s proposal that it share the toll proceeds with the United States.

Moreover, many countries were less willing to launch military action against Iran, as it was allowing them passage through the Strait. In contrast, a full blockade would make the affected countries desperate enough to resort to force.

HYPOCRISY: On April 8, 2026, Trump proposed that the United States and Iran jointly charge tolls for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated the administration was considering the joint effort as a way of "securing" the waterway, calling it a "beautiful thing". Trump has argued the U.S. is entitled to compensation as the "winner" of recent military conflicts, citing the cost of securing the route for other nations.

  3. What happens if there is a Chinese ship returning from an Iranian port? Will the US stop it? Will they fire on it? I can't understand how they can actually deploy a true blockade without real geopolitical risk.

  4. Trump is desperate! It's losing the war; there's no regime change, Iran still has all the enriched uranium, ballistic missile and drone capabilities, it's fighting back, etc. Iran decimated the US bases in the region; radar installations, it destroyed/damaged numerous US aircraft, including an AWACS, and damaged the USS G Ford aircraft carrier. Trump has no way out and what it wants is to get other countries involved!

  5. The unintended consequence is permanent switch to EV including construction equipment, making china a winner again. It is not US water. It has no business to block anything there. Now all the island building in south china sea makes perfect sense.

  6. So when Trump & America cannot win they just form a new gang to double block the Straits. This is like gangs fight .. what kind of message is America sending to the world?! Freedom my foot!

  7. Trump is so funny sometimes.
Iran's blockade drove him crazy, so he thinks he can blockade them back and drive them crazy.
I don't think he understands anything anymore.
I'm shocked he didn't try to sue them.

  8. America has to protect the petrodollar or it's all over for them anyway. The petrodollar goes and the US debt monster turns round and eats then whole.
Trump cannot win, but he is in a sense, right to try….
