President Xi Jinping’s Removal of High-Ranking Military and Diplomatic Officials

Date:

President Xi Jinping is conducting a significant series of high-level removals within the Chinese government and military, targeting top officials and the elite Rocket Force. Notable figures, including the former foreign and defense ministers, were removed from their positions following extended absences from public life. These actions are part of a broader, long-running anti-corruption campaign aimed at ensuring absolute political loyalty and discipline within the Communist Party. The purges suggest a continuing effort by Xi to consolidate power and address internal security concerns within the nation’s leadership structures.

  • Former Foreign Minister Qin Gang and former Defense Minister Li Shangfu were removed from their posts after disappearing from public view for several weeks.
  • The leadership of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force, which manages China’s nuclear and conventional missiles, has undergone a major overhaul.
  • While official explanations often cite corruption, the removals are widely viewed by analysts as a means to enforce political alignment and eliminate potential dissent.
  • The officials targeted in these recent actions were originally hand-picked by President Xi, highlighting shifts in the internal dynamics of his inner circle.
  • The ongoing anti-corruption drive has resulted in the punishment of millions of officials since it began in 2012, remains a central pillar of Xi Jinping’s governance.

  1. Don't forget all the purges in the American military. They currently called them 'fired'. Their little war in the Persian Gulf and how bad they planned and ran it shows how purging, I mean firing degrades a military.

  2. Oh look, anti-Chinese BBC propaganda on the eve of their American Master's meeting in Beijing.
Funnily enough the BBC never used the word "purge" when their US Master was purging their own Generals during their illegal war of aggression on Iran only weeks ago.

  3. it's not hard to understand….. xi keeps purging because china hate ccp and china leaders cant wait to sell state secrets to CIA so their kid can go to harvard or yale or wherever

  4. Without a term limit, there is no incentive in "training" the next generation of leaders, and every incentive to purge them as to secure one's own position. Russia now will be China in about 10-20 years' time, where the entire political system is centred around one person, and there is no clear line of succession. There may even be a special military operation with a neighbour to distract people from internal economic turmoils.

  5. The U.S. has over 750 Overseas Military Bases around the World, of which 313+ Military Bases are surrounding China

w/ Warships & Missiles at present . It is time for the US to purge most of these Military Bases after knowing that

these Military Bases could be destroyed easily in the Iran Invasion !
