I got really excited when Geert Wilders and his party won in the Netherlands. He was supposed to "form a coalition government and he failed to and everything fell apart. As an American I don't understand the Parliamentary system at all. Please someone make it make sense because here's what it seems to be. Everyone votes in the country, then the parties get the part of the ruling government of which they got the percentage of votes. If you got 40% and two other parties got 25% and several others split the last 10% you may have as many as 5 different groups or more with differing opinions having to share the government. They are told they have to find ways to compromise and form a government. But they all ran AGAINST easother, all with different viewpoints. Now, these political adversaries are supposed to get along and head in one direction. Is this really the way the Parliamentary system works? Seems as if the party that wants to get rid of the immigration problem is told they have to get along with, and agree with, the party that thinks immigration is terrific. How can that ever ever work? It's against human nature in my mind. Please clue in this always- confused- about- the- parliamentary system American in. It can't be as bad as I'm thinking. No serious government with modern man could be expected to work this way and get anything done. I must be missing a lot of something and would really appreciate knowing what I have wrong. I have been confused by this forever.

What can the German government do to stop the growth of AFD, start addressing some of their issues before they do! I went to Germany as a teenager in the 70s and more in the 80s and 90s one thing that stands out to me is the German people like things ordered and disciplined. It was a very high trust society.
