Myanmar’s ongoing civil war is increasingly fueled by illicit financial networks, including cross-border cyber-scam operations, underground casinos, and natural resource smuggling. Following the 2021 military coup, economic instability and international sanctions pushed various armed factions, border militias, and the ruling military regime to rely heavily on alternative revenue streams. Billions of dollars generated by transnational organized crime syndicates along the country’s borders provide financial lifelines that sustain the conflict and complicate international diplomatic and humanitarian efforts.
- Transnational criminal syndicates operate extensive cyber-fraud hubs and casino compounds in Myanmar’s border regions.
- Illicit revenues from online scams, illicit trade, and natural resources provide funding for military forces and aligned militias.
- International sanctions and economic disruption following the 2021 coup have accelerated reliance on shadow financial networks.
- Thousands of foreign nationals remain trafficked into heavily guarded border compounds to execute global online fraud schemes.
- Cross-border enforcement and regional regulatory efforts face significant challenges due to fragmented territorial control.

I feel no remorse whatsoever for these people. These are the same people who did & supported the Junta for the Rohingya Genocide.
Karma is now hitting them back.
Why you have to say the Myanmar goverment a "military backed goverment?" Like the US was not backed by military
both sides are making money…where do they get these arms and ammunition..there are mafias on both sides…i disagree to the reporter that it is a forgotten war…there is enough interest in this war as money is flowing to fuel this war…also disagree that the rebels are fighting for democracy…a group of people taking on arms do not fight for democracy…the same groups are present in india are th ebst example…there is a relkigious angle which has been completely overlooked

The military coup has destroyed Myanmar. The people of Myanmar are suffering unimaginable suffering. People from all over the world, please oppose the brutal military coup in Myanmar. Our leader is Aung San Suu Kyi.
Part 2!
As far as I know Myanmar civil war is a pure chaos, several militia group and military are fighting eachother for their own gains and big countries like China and US are probably involved in someway, few years ago India also done drone strikes on militia groups in western Myanmar bordering with india as reports says militia group from Myanmar were supplying weapons into the northeastern part of india.
Dark money source is USAID.
I think this is karma for what their forefather done hundreds years ago, razed and burned Ayutthaya, Thai capital. They are both buddhist but what they have done to Ayutthaya is really savaged and now karma come back to them. Anyway, i hope the war will be end soon, it is time to reconcile and no more vengeance.
Similar to Trump
USA also fund tons of $$$ for this civil vvvar
You labeled all this as civil war , but what the ethnic clearance of Muslims before all this military coup?
There is no democracy if you hate Rohingya
I lived in Myanmar for two years, and the people there were some of the kindest I’ve ever met. It’s heartbreaking to see the junta overthrow democracy, while the situation receives so little attention in international news. Myanmar deserves the world’s attention.
We should not isolate (embargo) Myanmar forever like Venezuela or North Korea. Innocent civilians suffer while the dictators and their cronies do not suffer at all actually 🙃 Authoritarian countries such as Vietnam can still prosper very well and it benefits everyone, their own people and other countries who trade with them. We should be pragmatic, not rigidly idealistic 🤔
I hope and pray that the armed Revolutionary fighters from all factions win the civil war against the totally corrupt and vicious Military Junta fake govt. Never give up the fight. Victory will be theirs in the end.
But I deplore China and Russias continued support for the Juntas Military and economic monopolies against the Peoples best interests.

The military's atrocities—the murders, rapes, and arson of entire villages—were not committed against the Rohingya alone; they have been inflicted on every ethnic group across the entire country, including the Bamar majority. The Rohingya received global attention and international aid primarily because they had a shared religious and ethnic Diaspora worldwide to amplify their voice. Meanwhile, other ethnic groups who have suffered under this military's tyranny for decades remain without a global platform to speak for them, leaving their ongoing plight hidden from the world.
For some to act like "the crying child gets the candy" while showing no empathy for the other ethnic groups who remain helpless is inhumane. Saying things like "you are reaping what you sowed" or "Burmese people deserve this punishment" is akin to kicking someone while they are down. It effectively condones the military's cruelty and signals that it is fine to keep oppressing us. Saying that the Burmese people deserve this suffering is profoundly cruel
